Reset Windows XP Password

Sometimes we’ve forgot about our password to login in on our Windows XP local account. We can’t do anything with the computer. There are a lot of ways to reset your password on windows xp. In this tutorial, I will share one of many ways to reset the password. But in one condition, you have to have another account that have Administrator privilege.

The first thing first you have to do, login in using your another user account. and then follow this instruction:

  • Open the Command Prompt (Start — Run, and type “CMD”).
  • Command Prompt window will appear. type “NET USER” to show all user account on your windows XP.

  • Take a look the figure above. In this case, I want to reset “Tunnel16″ password. use this following syntax to reset the password. “NET USER ”

NET  USER      TUNNEL16     1234

The command above will reset Tunnel16 password, and bring the new password to 1234. Now, you can logout from this user account. Try to login with your account with the new password.
